Located in southwest Colorado at the foot of Wolf Creek Pass, Pagosa Veterinary Clinic is the oldest continuing practice in Archuleta County. We are a single doctor practice providing 24 hour emergency care and hospitalization for our established patients, along with full service companion animal medicine , surgery and boarding.
Dr. Nannette Wagner-Lockard purchased the practice in 2016. She is the 4th owner and happy to join the Pagosa Springs community

Nannette Wagner-Lockard D.V.M., MPH purchased Pagosa Veterinary Clinic in April of 2016. Prior to that she had practiced in Bayfield CO for 8 years, and has also practiced in Sedona AZ and Laramie WY. Dr. Lockard received her DVM from Kansas State University, but is a Colorado native who always wanted to practice in the southwest mountains of home. Nannette and her husband Fred share their lives with son Sean, grandson Shane, three dogs ( Tela, Boss and Pebbles), four cats (Prunie, Pudgie, Chabba and Handsome Bob), three horses (Mojo, Piedra, and Sunny), and one lonely catfish (Metheusela). They spend any free time hiking, horseback riding, camping and gardening.
Veterinary Technician
Ashley began her career at Pagosa Veterinary Clinic in Oct 2011. She enjoys working to improve the lives of our clients and patients. She has a special interest in surgical procedures, particularly abdominal and orthopedic surgeries. Ashley loves spending time with her family and her rambunctious dogs, Nelwyn and Atlas. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar, camping, paddle boarding, and learning about astronomy. She came to Pagosa Springs in 2001 after moving here from Cañon City, CO.
Front Office/Receptionist
Kathy came to Pagosa Springs with her husband Scott and their two cats, The Dude and CeCe LaBouf in 2010. She has lived in many places throughout the United States including Hawaii. She started with Pagosa Veterinary Clinic in November of 2017 and absolutely loves her job. Kathy greets all our patients with a warm and friendly smile and a professional attitude. Her interests are her family, watching the wildlife - outside as well as inside! - camping, sewing, cooking and just being creative. She looks forward to meeting you and your special pets.
Veterinary Technician
Kristen joined us in August of 2018 as an intern and is an enrolled member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation. She is currently pursuing her Associates of Veterinary Technology to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has one daughter and two younger sisters, which she and her husband look after. Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her fur babies. Kristen hopes to inspire younger generations to obtain some sort of secondary education and to be the best they can be!
